Cenni sulla datazione assoluta mediante il metodo del 230Th/234U
Main Article Content
Abstract
The 230Th/234U method for the absolute dating of the sediments is widely used in the studies of Upper Pleistocene and Olocene geochronology since it permits to dating sediments deposited in the last 300 Kys. Several type of materials can be dated with The two main 230Th/234U datation techniques are: a particle counting and mass spectrometry (TIMS - thermal ionization mass spectrometry). The second technique permits to extend the datability limit beyond 500 Kys; moreover it needs less material and gives less error with respect to the first one, a particles counting.
