Stratigraphy hydrogeology and geomechanical characterisation of alluvial deposits in the Historical Centre of Rome (Italy)
Main Article Content
Abstract
A multidisciplinary study of holocenic alluvial deposits of the Tiber River and the pliocenic basement in the Historical Center of Rome is presented. New stratigraphical, hydrogeological and geomechanical data have been performed. A more detailed stratigraphy and geomechanical characterisation, and a more accurate description of the hydraulic underground circulation allow to reconstruct the depositional evolution of the Tiber River. Particularly are presented a lithostratigraphical and idrogeological section, crosswise the Tiber Valley, in the Historical Center of Rome sector, and several maps showing the pattern of some lithological units of the alluvial deposits.
