Abstract
The application of computerized tools in the management of the hydrographical basins requires a particular data configuration and the use of codes coupled to the single river segment. This propedeutic activity is an important step in the correct definition of the elaboration. The paper illustrates the informative power of the geomorphological hierarchization of the hydrographic system applied only for informational use. With the elaboration of these codes is possible to estimate primary aspects of the development of a given pattern. Its application to a series of minor basins flowing into the Tyrrhenian Sea in Liguria (northwestern Italy) shows that it is possible, using the indirect hierarchization of the pattern, to deduce the predisposition to hydraulic risk connected to an irregular development of the hydrographical pattern.
