Abstract
This paper analyses inputs and outputs in the beaches sedimentary budget and their changes in the last 3,000 years. The historical evolution of some Tuscan river deltas is presented as evidence of the relationship between human impact on river basins and either coastal accretion or erosion. Finaliy, the problems of the correlation between evolution phases of deltaic forms in different areas are discussed.
