Ricostruzione dei campi di sforzi plio-quaternari nel Pedeappennino piacentino (Italia settentrionale)

Abstract
Brittle deformation structures in Plio-Quaternary ter-ranes outcropping along the margin of the Northwestern Apennines (Piacenza Province) were analysed from the mesostructural view-point The analyses, based on conglomerate pitted pebbles and mesofaults, allowed the reconstruction of two Plio-Pleistocenic paleo-stress fields with maximum compressional axes trending NW and NNE. The stratigraphic framework was well studied and allowed to reconstruct the relative chronology of stress fields: the NW trending stress field is Late Pliocene whereas the NNE trending one is Early Pleistocene.
