Il ritrovamento di molluschi marini nella Grotta dell'Edera nel quadro dell'evoluzione morfotettonica della Val Pora (Liguria occidentale)
Main Article Content
Abstract
"Grotta dell'Edera" is a karstic cave which is located at 265 m a.s.l. at the edge of Carpanea Plateau, a part of the karstic area of the Finale Ligure hinterland, in the Ligurian Alps. The deposits filling the cave contain a level rich in marine littoral molluscs of Quaternary age and of temperate climate. The morphostratigraphic position and the presence of marine fauna suggest that, during a part of the Lower Pleistocene, the cave was on a cliff approximately at the sea level. Since that time, the tectonic uplift in the area has been in the order of 260-270 m.
