Abstract
In the last century, scholars produced an abundance of materiai tram the study of the extensive ltalian coasts. From the initial research which dealt mainly with paleontology and stratigraphy, we have gradually moved towards more specialized analyses. Geomorphological research has assumed greater importance particularly in the last decade as it is able to previde indispensable elements far comprehending tectonics and the paleogeographical evolution of Pleistocene.
