Evoluzione delle spiagge nel tratto di costa compreso tra Varazze e Voltri (Liguria Occidentale)
Main Article Content
Abstract
The evolution of the coastline between Genova-Voltri and Varazze was controlled, during the last century, by human activities which have modified its natural tendency. Textural analyses of 112 beach samples and the results of a detailed morphological survey carried out in the winter of 1992 indicate that the beach is in general landward constrained by constructions on the coast and that only locally it is large enough to absorb the effects of major storms. Areas where either erosion or accretion may occur are identified by comparing bathimetric charts of the end of the 19th century to recent ones.
