Abstract
The first results of a research considering the creation of a new inventory of Italian Glaciers aiming at studying the glacial evolution are discussed. The research, based on an agree-ment between the Ministry of the Environment and the Italian Glaciological Committee, is promoted and supported by the Ministry of the Environment and focussed on the comparison of the Italian Glaciers Inventory's data (1958) with present situations as detected on the "Volo ITALIA 88/89" aerial photographs. The results of the telesurvey, computerized and georeferred, will be integrated with the National Data-base of the Ministry of the Environment.
