Aims and scope

AMQ publishes Open Access peer-reviewed original research and review papers concerning the Quaternary history, past climate, past biodiversity, relative sea level change, past human-environment interactions, impact of ancient civilizations and evolution of the regions surrounding the Mediterranean Basin, including the Alpine-Himalayan mountains and basins, the Middle East and Northern Africa. Original reports dealing with wider geographical perspectives and global processes are also welcome. 

 The journal is issued twice a year.

AMQ is free of charge. No additional costs are required for color figures and tables.

By 2021, articles are published under the terms of a Creative Commons Attribution License

by nc

This license allows re-users to distribute, remix, adapt, and build upon the material in any medium or format for noncommercial purposes only, and only so long as attribution is given to the creator.

All articles published in AMQ before 2021 should now be considered as having been released under the same Creative Commons Attribution License.

In this sense copyright is retained by the authors by default.

Open Access Policy

All research articles published in AMQ are fully open access. After they have passed the peer review process, they are immediately freely available to read, download and share.

AIQUA, as publisher of AMQ, believes that: 1) Open Access publishing provides access to research results to researchers worldwide and to general public interested in the subject; 2) Open Access fosters interdisciplinary research, facilitating the exchange of research results among scientists from different disciplines; 3) Open Access plays a fundamental part in the scholarly communication process.

Preservation and archiving information
 
Since 1988, hard copies of the juornal have been deposited for long term preservation at the National Central Library of Rome (http://www.bncrm.beniculturali.it/en/1/home)
